Diego Arraigada Arquitectos
Diego Arraigada graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the National University of Rosario with a degree in Architecture in 1999 and from the School of Architecture of the University of California Los Angeles with a Master of Architecture degree in 2003.
He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Rosario and an Associate Professor at the Torcuato Di Tella University in Argentina. He has also been an Invited Professor at Universidad de la República in Uruguay, and Universidad Católica de Chile and has lectured in numerous architectural institutions worldwide.
Among other distinctions, he obtained the Arquitectonica Foundation Prize for young architects in 1999, the Fulbright Scholarship in 2001, the Silver Medal at the XII International Architecture Buenos Aires Biennale in 2009, and the National Prize for Technological Innovation in Architecture in 2015. In 2011 he was selected to represent Argentina in the II Latin-American Architecture Biennale in Pamplona, Spain and in 2014 he was selected for a solo exhibition at LIGA Espacio para Arquitectura, Mexico DF. In 2016 he was nominated for the Mies Crown Hall Award for Emerging Architecture. (Chicago, 2016). He is currently participating in the Chicago Architecture Biennial (2017).
Diego Arraigada Arquitectos was established in 2005 in Rosario, Argentina. Since then, the firm´s work has ranged from buildings of various themes and scales to art installations. We consider architecture to be a form of cultural production, deeply engaged in the time and place from where it stems.
The firm´s works have been displayed in several international exhibitions including Breaking Borders Exhibition (Pratt Institute, New York, 2011); Past, Present, Future (UCLA, Los Angeles, 2010); Post Post Post (Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires, 2010); New Argentine Architecture Exhibition (XIII CLEFA, Buenos Aires, 2009) and the 13ª and 15º Architecture Venice Biennale (2012 and 2016). They have also been widely published in specialized publications such as Summa+, PLOT, Taschen Books, A+U, GA, Interni, The Plan, Ottagono, Mark, Azure, Architectural Review, Architektur Aktuell, Arquitectura Viva and ARQ Chile among others.
