Nicolás Campodonico
The beginning of the study takes place in the year 2000 in Rosario. Of a small scale, and with the target of making the development of his projects in the most handcrafted way, the structure of this study is compound by his founder, Nicolás Campodonico and a group of collaborators (from 2 to 5, depending on the amount of work). This collaboration are complemented with external counseling on structure, weather conditioning, landscaping, and installations. The type of work done during these years has been varied, including individual housing, block of flats, commercial, cult and cultural. In the same way, the scales varied, from small to medium. The task is to take advantage of the available resources and generate and additional value in each case from the design and innovation.
Nicolás Campodonico | Architect
Born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina in 1973. Beginning his studies of Architecture at the National University of Rosario in 1991, he graduated ten years later with a silver medal. During his studies he obtained a scholarship for an international student exchange with the ETSAV, Valladolid, Spain and in 1996 he lives and work in Barcelona, Spain. In 1997 he developed and built his first work (Countryside House). In 2000 he established his professional studio in Rosario, City from where he designs and builds works in Argentina and Uruguay.
Participating in numerous national and international competitions, he obtained a series of awards: : Building of the Year 2017 (Archdaily); International Prize XX BAQ Quito 2016; Young Architecture CICA Prize Argentina (BA2015); and the inclusion "Work Panorama" X BIAU Sao Paulo 2016 and VIII BIAU Cádiz 2012.
His buildings and projects have been published in Argentina, México, Colombia, Spain and England. He alternates his professional work with teaching. He has been teaching Architectural Design at UNR (National University of Rosario) since 1998. Besides, he has collaborated teaching at Navarra’s University (Spain) and at IUAV University of Venice. His work’s develop is a reflection between Light, Material and Space immersed in Latin’s America reality.
