A HIGH-QUALITY PLATFORM FOR BRICK Architecture
The Erich Mendelsohn Award creates a dense, cross-media communication network in which each component complements the others. This ensures that the projects achieve maximum qualitative reach and impact. Particularly remarkable projects – whether nominated or winning – are communicated across multiple platforms. They appear on the award’s website, in the brick magazine VORTEILE, in social media posts, in manufacturers’ media, and in the architects’ own presentations. The gui- ding principle is always: quality over background noise. For this reason, a second edition of the book „Die besten Einfamilienhäuser aus Backstein“ (The Best Detached Houses in Brick) was published in collaboration with the renowned Callwey Verlag, featuring projects from the Award for Brick Architecture.
A STAGE FOR GREAT ARCHITECTURE.
The popular architecture magazine VORTEILE, published by the initiative “Bauen mit Backstein” , is at the heart of the award's media activities. Twice a year, the best submissions in each category are presented in a high-quality print and online edition.
Presented with expertise and substantive depth, VORTEILE magazine showcases architects and their projects. Since 2009, 26 issues of the brick magazine VORTEILE have been published, reaching approximately 2,667,000 readers. The magazines are distributed alongside prestigious architecture publications such as Bauwelt, BundesBauBlatt, DBZ, db, wettbewerbe aktuell and die architekt.
To give the firms and projects the widest possible platform and reach, the prize editorial team works closely with architecture media partners. Each of our media partners provides exclusive coverage on selected topics – from the shortlist to the award-winning projects.
